After obtained a master degree in finance and banking at the International Finance Center Carlos V., Eduardo Bouzon Ruiz worked for the Bank of America in London as an analyst in the area of Fixed-income Securities and Pension Funds. Later he made his abundant experience available to renowned companies such as Iberdrola, Ferrovial, Gas Natural or the clients solution group MTN Desk. Eduardo Bouzon Ruiz is an expert in the area of acquisition of large customers and institutional investors as well as the sale of derivatives and equity – and corporate finance – projects.

Irma Vinyes Gallardo successfully completed her law studies at the University of Barcelona. Afterwards she specialised in the area of international law and worked for a number of years for some of the most prestigious law firms in Barcelona. In 1997, she moved from Barcelona to Malaga and obtained a master in management and corporate management. This enabled her to head the legal department of a large private company. In 2000, Irma Gallardo operated her own law firm where she offers her sound knowledge. Thanks to her know-how she will offer a significant contribution to the stable and above all safe development of the company.

Independent petrol stations gain momentum – more than 40 per cent growth

The market for free petrol stations is booming. In 2013, the Spanish government passed a law decreeing that groups like Repsol, Cepsa, BP and Galp may only dispose of a maximum market share of 30%. At present, these groups unite approximately 60 per cent. This means that in a way the “monopoly” of the global players has been prohibited to enable free competition in this market segment for smaller and medium-sized market players, too.

Since then about 300 new “independent” petrol stations have opened in Spain in the last 18 months. These petrol stations will become part of everyday life.

Since the global economic crisis a new business model, which is based on the low-cost-principle, could increasingly established itself in the cities.
By means of simplifying the service, the customer is offered a better price.

According to several studies in the industry the Spanish market is by far not yet saturated.
The fuel consumption increased from 36.4 billion litres in 2014 to 37.9 billion litres in 2015.
This corresponds to a sales increase of 4.12 per cent.

  • Westport Energie is present in a highly profitable and fast growing market. Thanks to initial investments already made into petrol station the project has already been started. With the planned expansion to other locations amounting to 5 million euros – over the course of the next 2 years –
    the sales of the company will increase drastically.
  • The company has the necessary know-how on the Spanish market in the areas of industry, finance and marketing to be able to successfully give the company a stable position on the market and to establish it in the long term as a profitable entity.
  • WPE Group already operates petrol station with a proven success.
  • The business model realises a low working capital.
    This means: No funds are committed for the purchase of property or for warehouses.
  • According to market surveys of independent institutes the crude oil market will exist in its current focus for at least another two generations.

Differentiators

The majority of petrol stations work on the principle of self-service, and to pay the customers need to go inside or to a counter to see the staff. These additional costs must obviously be added to the fuel prices. To be able to offer our customer even cheaper prices, this process has mainly been automated in our Easy Fuel Stations.

Additionally, all petrol station operators in Spain must without exception purchase their fuel and lubricators from the only (state-owned) provider – the company CLH. This again increases the affordability of our products.

The flexibility practiced thanks to our corporate structure is a significant advantage compared to our competitors. The grown customer relations are maintained and fostered carefully, and new customers are canvassed and courted.

Westport Energie offers fuel of at least the same good quality and for up to 7 cents per litre below the price of its competitors.

In rural areas where there is less traffic and the network of petrol stations is not as close-knit as in metropolitan areas the system is already known and used. Now, this business model also enters urban areas. Consumers accept it very well. Whoever can save up to 15 euros for a standard tank of fuel, is normally not bothered if they have to put the nozzle in the tank themselves.

Baar/Madrid – At present, Westport Energie AG (ISIN: CH0323028271 / WKN: A2AJGC) – one of the fastest growing companies in the Spanish crude oil industry – focuses specifically on the planned operational growth as part of implementing its corporate structure. Four state-of-the-art, mainly automated petrol stations in the Spanish towns of Pisa, Barcelona, Chiclana de la Frontera and Lerma are already in operation. Construction is in process at a fifth site in El Puerto de Santa Maria in the province of Cádiz (Spain). In this project, the cooperation that started with local partners highlights how the management of Westport goes about the site selection and the subsequent construction.

Westport Energie AG does not only pay attention to the local infrastructure, but it also consciously seeks the proximity to potential large customers in the retail or wholesale sector. It has, for example, recently signed contracts with the food retailer “Día”, one of the largest Spanish supermarket chains, and with “SEUR”, a large logistics company. Both companies will fill their fleets at Westport, once the site is finished. Negotiations are also held with the beverage producer Coca Cola. Westport Energie AG shows that its offer is interesting for trade partners.

Other projects at predestined sites are at the planning stage. In the future, it is planned to open up to 10 petrol stations per year. Westport Energie AG assesses various options to finance the planned expansion of the network of petrol stations. Apart from new approved capital, which the Extraordinary General Meeting should pass on 21 December 2016, the shareholders are also suggested an ordinary capital increase of 500,000.00 CHF with a maximum of 500,000.00 CHF to a maximum of 1,000,000.00 CHF while being granted the shareholders’ legal subscription right. The issuing price will be determined at the Extraordinary General Meeting. It is still unclear whether, when and to what extent a capital measure will take place. This will also be discussed openly at the General Meeting, and the company invites the shareholders to actively participate in it.

Westport Energie AG is planning to implement the already proven way of selecting its site and cooperating with principal customers in the future in other projects. A successful local cooperation would have a positive effect on the sales and revenue development of the Westport Group.

Baar/Madrid – Westport Energie AG (ISIN: CH0323028271 / WKN: A2AJGC) – one of the fastest growing companies in the Spanish crude oil industry – has been included in the outside market of the Securities Exchange Hamburg effective today. With a capital of 500,000 Swiss Francs (CHF) about 23.9% of the 5’000’000 shares are in a free float. The first stock exchange price was EUR 2.20.

The access to the capital market created with the inclusion in the outside market should facilitate the refinancing of the planned expansion in the next years. Until now, Westport Energie AG operates four state-of-the-art mainly automated petrol stations in the Spanish towns of Pisa, Barcelona, Chiclana de la Frontera y Lerma through its subsidiaries. A station in El Puerto de Santa Maria is in the middle of being constructed, and other projects at predestined sites are at the planning stage.

Baar/Madrid – Westport Energie AG (ISIN CH0323028271/ WKN A2AJGC), a company that is active in the Spanish crude oil sector has been advised today by BÖAG Börsen AG (Hanseatic Securities Exchange Hamburg) that the inclusion of its shares in the outside market will end at the end of 31 March 2017. The Executive Board of Westport Energie AG advocated the termination of the inclusion; however, the regulations for the segment of the outside market concerned does not include a right to notification for the issuer. Therefore, Westport Energie AG welcomed that BÖAG endorsed its plans.
